A Call to Action

“Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it” is a quote from philosopher, essayist, poet, and novelist George Santayana and has been proven accurate over and over again in human history. As humans we have the intelligence to land men on the moon and to send spacecraft to the far reaches of our solar system but for some reason we can’t grasp the simple concept of the above quote. The current road the United States is traveling is a text book example of a train wreck about to happen.

Screen Shot 2016-02-22 at 9.52.42 PMIn the 1930’s Adolf Hitler rose to power by first dividing a nation then instilling fear of the Jews to the public and we all know how well that turned out for Germany and the world. It is now 2016 and the United States is divided and the modern day version of the Jews are the LGBT Community. According to HRC “Human Rights Campaign” there are OVER 175 anti-LGBT bills currently circulating in state houses across the nation. These bills are stepping stones to even more restrictive laws. Many politicians even use the same words as Hitler. The words “Banished”, “Eradicated”, and “exterminated” are just a few of the words our own politicians have used in reference to the LGBT community.

We have to not just fight these current bills but to also come Election Day vote against any politician who is part of the war against our fellow Americans as inaction in history shows us will only lead to disaster for the United States and the world.
